Hibs back in market for striker
Hibs boss David Gray is back in the market for another striker after allowing Dylan Vente to join PEC Zwolle on loan.
The Dutchman yesterday sealed a return to his homeland on a season-long deal after struggling for form and goals since making the £700,000 switch from Roda JC last summer.
Gray recently added Kieron Bowie and Mykola Kukharevych to his squad but admits there is space for another offensive player after Vente’s departure.
Gray, who has made nine summer signings and is still keen on Dundee playmaker Luke McCowan
That would be something we’d need to look towards (another striker), 100 per cent. It has to be the right person we bring in, you just don’t go and sign a striker. The person you bring has to be able to affect the group in a positive way and needs to be at least at Dylan’s level or else you’re in a weaker situation.
“Strikers are in demand, Sammy (Craig Samson), the goalie coach always talks about the goalkeeper being the most important position on the pitch. But a centre forward, scoring goals is a big part of the game. They’re hard to find and that’s why they get paid more money than most people, nine times out of ten.

Idah shrugs off fee to fire Kyogo warning
Adam Idah insists he’s not returned to Celtic to play back-up - but to be the Hoops’ number one striker.
The £8.5m hitman became the club’s second most expensive player of all time when he clinched a permanent move to Parkhead from Norwich City this week.
And he says the weight of the hefty fee doesn’t faze him as he looks to build on his impressive five-month loan deal last season.
Idah’s fee could rise to £9.5m in add-ons as he vies with Hoops talisman Kyogo for the starting role up front.
But the only thing on the Ireland international’s mind is picking up from where he left off last season and ensuring he scores the goals that make him main man for his boyhood heroes.

Leeds 'want' Matondo to replace Summerville
Leeds reportedly want to sign Rabbi Matondo from Rangers.
The Elland Road club lost Crysencio Summerville to West Ham in a £40million move this summer and Daniel Farke is onthe lookout for a replacement winger.
Football Scotland claim Matondo has been identified as a target and a switch to Yorkshire could appeal to the Welshman, who has struggled for regualr game time at Ibrox and is behind Scott Wright and now Vaclav Cerny in the pecking order under Philippe Clement.
A sale could also help fund more incoming transfer for the Belgian, who saw a Champions League jackpot disappear after defeat to Dynamo Kyiv in midweek.

DONE DEAL! Dundee Utd loan Stephenson from Liverpool
Dundee United have signed Luca Stephenson on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool.
The midfielder was part of Arne Slot's 28-man squad for the Reds' pre-seaso tour of the States.
Now he'll spend the year at Tannadice to gain some valuable first team experience.
Luca is an exciting prospect who arrives at Tannadice with a fabulous pedigree, having spent the entirety of his youth career within an elite-level environment," said Utd boss Jim Goodwin.
His loan spell with Barrow last season was a burgeoning success - he played over 30 times across all competitions, proving his reliability and consistency within the senior game at such a young age.
As a player, his enthusiasm for his defensive duties are infectious, carrying them out with controlled aggression and intelligence. He compliments this with an outstanding level of technical ability, given the footballing education he has enjoyed with Liverpool.
"Luca can also play in a variety of different positions - a quality which will be vital during an unrelenting league season which will no doubt bring various niggles and knocks to the squad

Juve up Koopmeiners offer
Juventus have reportedly returned with an improved bid to try and land Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners.
The Turin giants recently saw an offer of €50million (£42.7million) with a further €5million (£4.2million) in add ons turned down, but according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano a new bid worth €52million (£44.4million) that will eventually rise to €59million (£50.4million) has been loded to bring the Netherlands midfielder to the Old Lady.
Atalanta are continuing their bids to replace the playmaker, and have seen five bids rejected by Celtic for talisman Matt O'Riley, the latest coming in at an initial fee of £21.5million. However a seismic boost to their coffers from the sale of Koopmeiners could see the Europa League champions meet the Hoops demands for the talented Denmark international.

Hardbottle leaves Hibs
Hibernian have confirmed the departure of Riley Harbottle, with the defender joining AFC Wimbledon on a permanent deal.
Harbottle, 23, only arrived at Easter Road from Nottingham Forest last summer but made just appearances for the Hibees before spending the second half of the season on loan at Colchester United.
Hibs boss David Gray said:
I’ve had a number of good conversations with Riley, and he expressed his desire to be playing senior football regularly.
He understood that game-time would be limited here, so when this opportunity materialised, we knew it would be one he’d be interested in.
He is a great lad and has been a pleasure to work with. We wish him nothing but the best for the future.
Sporting director Malky Mackay added:
This transfer makes sense for both the Club and Riley.
The way he applied himself at Colchester last season led to this opportunity and I’m sure he will relish it. We wish him all the best going forward.
